Morning

a pallid light sifts
through mists
that haze the distant skyline,
greys soften to blues
and lines to gentler rhythms
sea clouds rise
from burnished waters
laced in frothy filigree
as wavelets cusp the molten masses
moving with the heavy rhythms
of deep dark things.
