Watercolors II: Seaside, Early Morning

A mist of palest greys and blues
in subtle variations
begins to lift from sleeping waters
while tints of pale pink
mingle with the hazy vapors.

Shadowy forms thicken
in the middle distance
as harbor boats emerge,
dark strokes
on a still grey surface.
